My TR doesn’t play music loud enough for me. I keep trying to increase the volume only to find it is already maxed out.

It is a TR2A, WMP9, and Sony in-ear earphones.

Does anyone know what the limiting factor is? I assume there’s no fix, but I’m curious…..

Yeah, this is a known issue. The only other way to make it louder is via amplified headphones.

get headphones that have very low impedence… or get an in-line amplifier

I got the same problem with a sony special high quality (you know the one which go deep in your ear, to avoid outside noise). I used this headphone with my pda to listen to mp3 without any problems, but each time I use it with my TR, the sound was too low.

So I finally, get it refund (with some difficulties, because they said that the headphone was not in fault), and get another headphones, with the volume remote control on the cable (which I think mean it is an amplified one), and it’s ok now.

were they the mdr-ex71’s? i had those headphones… they worked real well… in fact, they were quite bassy

  they’re definitely easier to power than reference headphones :shock:
