Hi folks!  Thanks for all the work getting this site up, it looks great.

I would really love it if there were a way to subscribe to forums or individual topics as an RSS feed… would you guys consider something like that?  It looks like there might be a MOD to do it here:

It would be awesome to integrate the content from this site into my daily news-reading.

That’s a great idea. I’ll look into working on the RSS feed for added convenience to the users here. Thanks for the heads up and I’ll let you know if and when it’s running.

not to sure i understand rss feed in the context of a forum…would it then send emails with the content attached like in yahoo?  that would save on my phone bill!  we have to pay 1 rupee per minute here, so that is the only advantage of yahoo forum over php forum, ya don’t have to be online to read the posts that you interested in.

RSS feeds allow you to download (at your discretion) posts. As opposed to having information “pushed” to you, you “pull” it. It’s nice because it lets you know what is updated without having you to log into the site and searching for new posts.

Unfortunately, phpBB only gives you the links to the new posts. Other traditional RSS feeds give you links and a brief summary of the post.

i really like the idea of RSS pushing THE ENTIRE post to you from a subscribed thread…but then this would be yahoo eh?
