Umm no…. the VGN-S150 and VGN-S170’s are exactly the same shell… the only difference is that the S-150’s arn’t customizable… S-170’s are. 

The pictured laptop (4-6 posts up) is probably just design layouts before the shell of our S-150’s and S-170’s was fully decided upon.

Well yeah… design pic’s generally do look a bit different. That is the point… exploring possibilities.
And trust me… the workers at Best Buy, they aren’t exactly the brightest crayons in the box.  While I was buying my TR one day (only took me 3 1/2 hours :evil: ), there was a couple there buying an E-Machine/Gateway desktop… anyway… after the guy finished ringing it up and getting the rebate stuff printed… I looked at the box and asked “didn’t you say you were getting a P4?”.  They said yes and asked why…. the salesguy had rung up and nearly had them paying for a completely different machine with Celeron and like 30-40 GB hard drive… Then the couple wondered why it was so cheap
I will never let my family shop there again without my supervision.

I still think that would be a great design to take the TR position.  With a 11~12 inch widescreen.

Yes TrackStar knows of my… unsubtle… feelings toward HP…

And also yes it does seems odd that Sony has abandoned the 11-12” market.  You would think that Sony has realized the REALLY small form factored laptops… TR, P1000, P7000, Mebius, etc have all not done to well in the American market.  But, you would expect a larger variety from them at least in the Japanese market ranging from newer, improved 8.9” to 11” laptops for ultra-mobility, and then to make another model taking into account better graphics   and a screen in the size of around 12” for Americans.

Kids at school say, “omg my laptop is better… it is bigger…” I don’t even bother…
