Hey guys,
this may be a stupid question but i was wondering…does it affect the batterly life cycle if u leave ure tr plugged in constantly instead of charging it fully and then letting the battery drain out? i mean woudl it make a difference? I know with cell phones it’ better to charge it up fuly and then let the battery drain out completely to maximize the charge and life of the battery..does this hold true with the tr’s battery as well? i’m asking cuz it will mostly be sitting on my desk and i can leaved it in 24/7 (or at least when it’s on)...so what do u think? should i charge it adn let it drain the battery most of the time or should it not matter if i leave it plugged most of the time..

hmm i actually dont know much abou this.. but i thought that i would be better to take out that part instead of the one attached to TR. I dont want to keep plug and unplug.. more wear and tear on my laptop. I have no clue about counter-current. May be anyone who’s an expert can explain that to us.

thats the same thing I’d heard for li-ion batteries (which is used in my cell phone on on our TR’s) but no one could answer that question (or atleast I think no one did). It’s quite weird…for cell phones people say to allow it to drain as much as possible and then charge while for laptops people say to charge it as and when possible :?
I keep mine on the charger all the time. L-ion technology includes intelligent charging that will not overcharge the cell. Every discharge/charge cycle is a small increment of cell life. After I go mobile I just plug it in regardless of how much I used it.
It’s been suggested to do a complete discharge/charge every dozen or so charge cycles. It doesn’t effect capacity one way or the other, it just recallibrates the charge level indication circuit.
Above all, do not exhaust a battery pack and forget to charge it.
There are two or three extensive threads on the subject if you bother to search for them.
