[quote author=“Rahul”][quote author=“TruthSeeker”]With the forum growing, this isn’t a bad idea.
and growing real fast…I find it hard to keep up with the posts now…
Yeah same here. I have to devote real time morning and evening to make sure I keep on top of them! Morning’s are usualy worse as you guys over the pond have been busy while I was sleeping
I am noticing that the posts are becoming more social in nature. Even in my own posts I am aware of it. A guest poster tried to point this out, but endied up flaming in the process. It is to be expected, though, of a forum that has all but covered most topics related to the TR. What else is there to talk about, right?
That is the nature of a message board, is it not? The only thing left now is for a strong personality opposed to gr00vy0ne to appear, take some divisive issue and split off with a third of the board population to an almost identical message board hosted on ezboards or something. :|
[quote author=“tifosiv122”]Forum Veteran here…several thousand posts spread among many forums…
I still like forums better then chat rooms, maybe its because I grew up on the BBS when it was only a few users at a time…more personal, like a forum.

BBS’s and usenet were my first online experiences. I never cared for the “everyone talking at once” aspect of chat unless it was a few good friends. Generally I never saw any real point in it. Must be the antisocial nerd in me.
In a forum, questions and responses are usually better considered. I came here for information, the sense of community and social aspects are a happy byproduct.
BTW, this is a very pleasant forum. Some are so full of inane posts/questions, insular regulars and flame-wars that if you do go there it’s only to get what you need and leave.
It is good to hear feedback from you veterans. I am having those same difficulties in finding a good biblical forum to join. Most are too social or too flame-oriented. Biblical doctrine is such a sensitive subject. Very few truely want to discuss it in a cival manner. :|

Good luck on that one. The old saw about politics and religion gets a whole new meaning on-line. Technical forums and newsgroups are usually pretty polite if you follow them for a while or at least check the FAQ before posting. Religious, political and social-philosophy groups are sometimes outright insane.
You might investigate listservers. These are mailing lists, usually moderated, that often have academic roots. Check any of the sites you really like for lists they may offer or for links to suggested lists. You can also check at universities and theological colleges many professors moderate or subscribe to lists. You can search, but there are a zillion of em.

Can’t help you there. As far as forums go, this is still rather small…and thats why i’ve started to post here more then my other forums…hopefully it won’t grow too large and attract the annoying crowd.
