I’ve always been scared to use a active desktop.  Doesn’t this take a lot of your resouces? like memory and cpu? :ph34r:

It’s a Windows XP powertoy that does the same thing (although it doesn’t have all of goScreen’s features).  It’s pretty good although it doesn’t work with Microsoft Access 2000 or XP correctly.

I’ve tried that thing,too. It wasn’t interested me at all. I dont really see the use of it.  :? Also i worked too slow on my Desktop PC

It’s just like you have 4 separate desktop. You can choose each separate background and choose how you’r going to arrange icon and everything on your windows desktop separately.

The only problem with this is that things remain in your taskbar even if they are not being used on the screen…thats my main gripe with this program. The whole point of multi desktops IMO is to keep each one with a certain purpose…lets say PShop for one, Internet for the other…but if your PShop Taskbar is cluttered with IE bars…well, then you might as well minimize and maximize PShop using one desktop, its easier.

Thanks for the info Eric.  THat’s what I thought and the whole reason I never considered using a active desktop.  The less things in my tray bar the better.  I mean even on my deskop I like to keep my tray bar clean.

Traybar? Ok…two things. Systemtray (area next to clock) or taskbar (area between start and clock).

Systemtray stuff is stuff running in the background…using system resources…the less you have there the better.

Taskbar stuff is what you have running, IE, Word, PShop, etc…active programs.

Which are you trying to limit?

no, super small.

i like it because i can switch desktop by short-cut key. very useful when you are working sensitive data in public.
in additional, you don’t need install, just use it and put it nto start-up .

i tried cookdesk before,  it will close some windows without a reason.
i also tried Multi-user desktop, it sucks.

goScreen works terrific and very stable. trust me.

I’ve used goScreen at work for quite some time now—it’s rock solid and worth every penny.  In my office several of us bought our own licenses for our work machines because it’s just that much of a convenience to have.

For the record, I have no vested interested in the software other than being a happy user.
