Have you ever wondered what all of that crap is in your startup folders and registry? Well if you have then you’ll enjoy this program called Windows Startup Inspector.

It first tells you what the startup items do as it has a fairly huge database of the most commonly seen items (which is constantly updated) and whether they’re crucial for operation. You then have the choice of enabling/disabling items as you see fit.

It’s very handy for cleaning out your system and keeping it trim and fit and only loading stuff that you actually need.

What I’d really like, though, is a similar program which describes all of the processes running in the task manager.  There are at least 25 active processes of which I know about .....5.

Well, this program will still tell you what some of those task processes are. They’ll have the same name as some of the programs seen in this program.

Yeah, I load up quite a few things in my typical setup. As much as I like a clean and trim setup, I find that I still use a lot of stuff so I need them loaded at startup which saves me time to hunt them down and load them one by one.

I also rarely ever shut my system down so it’s not a big deal to load up a decent amount of stuff every once in a while. I hibernate or standby most of the time.
