I’ve mentioned earlier about problems with my Clie’s battery discharging quite fast. About a week ago it was at 70% charge (when I switched it off) and I didn’t switch it on even once up until today and it was completely dead…is this normal or should I contact Sony?
Also, all the data got wiped off…I had one memo created…gone :(
and I switched it on midway through charging and it started off at 70% dropped quickly to 56 or so and then to 43 and then every 10 secs would drop by 1% till it reached 40 and then went up to 42.
I have seen similar on my TH55… I figured it was in some kidn of standby mode and never really completely off. And when the battery did discharge fully, then all the data would be lost. I actually says so in the manual, as well. Perhaps that is the case for the UX50 as well?
I dont know which one is mine setup for. I looked in preferences and the only entry related to power was power saving and that didn’t give me an option of setting the function of the power switch to switch it off or put it into standby mode. But it does turn off and on instantly.
Also, if discharging of the battery means loss of the data whats the purpose of this piece of shit? I mean it has some memory 104 mb or so (less than that probably available for storage)...isn’t that supposed to save the data ?
whenever it syncs it automatically backs up the data on your desktop so the next time you sync..everything is restored. i like being able to turn it on and not having to wait for it to boot. does pocket pc require booting or are they always on like palm?
Rahul. I use the MS Backup tool and copy all my info to my memory stick about once a week or when I make substantial changes on my TH55. It has come in handy, especially when I had issues with the voice recorder switch vs. the camera switch (camera switch activated the voice recorder and required a hard reset to correct).
Honestly, towards the end…the UX and TJ series…I think Sony let their quality slip a bit…I hear of a ton of problems with both of those series. I think they knew they were pulling out and rushed to ship the last series.
