To change your processor from adaptive to “performance”...

You need to right click on “power management” on the sys tray, don’t confuse it with the “battery icon” in the system tray. 

Upon right clicking on “power management”, click on “show power management settings”

Once the screen opens click on the draw menu under “Plugged in” and select the “power management off” one.  That will change you processor to performance when it’s plugged in.

If you click under “battery powered” you can click on “games” which will make your processor on performance when your on battery power alone.

But counter Strike Condition zero is really playable. I really enjoyed it.(i experienced a lack once in a while)

Has anyone tried to run 3DMark. The score will probably be hilarious.

No I wonder if it would even run it.  I also used to play cz all the time on my TR.  Until I started playing cs source on my desktop.

I did try the Halo Demo.  And it played smooth at 640x480.  Using the zoom button trick.  It filled the screen.

It looked like the smoothest and most fun.  With online play enable too.  I would defintely try this out if you own a TR.

I give it 9-10.

I found out the majority of the new games won’t play because the require direct x cards.  I know someone on this board tweaked it to play doom3.

Even if you are able to get it to play far cry.  Your FPS will look horrible.

I tweaked it a little to get Halo to work.  I thought that was impressive.  I get very good fps which is not the case in alot of intense grafic games on the TR.

Im just glad I can fully play Knights of the Old Republic now.  Im half way through it! 8)

(actually im about to play it right now im in Econ class with WIFI.)

Just installed rainbow six Ravien Shield.  And it worked.  I played at 800x600 and at medium settings. 

I will will lower the settings later and see how it does with the fps.

not really a HUGE taxing game… but man this is cool nonetheless…

for those that want to play a pretty decent version of Street Fighter (plus some Marvel vs. Capcom characters) on their TR, go   .  Man, I lost a few hours playing this damn thing!

ok, let’s see.

1. did you grab the Missing DLL Files?

2. Another kicker, while my TR5 went through the default setup of Shockwave (again, just got mine a week or so ago-so it didn’t have any version installed on it yet), I still had to download and install the Shockwave 8.5 on top of that install.

3. I copied/saved all the files from sfo11e.exe and all the character files below it.  Next, I extracted the exe file to the same directory as all the other files.

After grabbing all the files including the missing files, unzipping the exe, installing shockwave 8.5, the game ran fine.  It plays pretty well, and only stalls a bit when doing a ‘super’ move.

Also for kicks, I installed C&C Generals and Counter Strike Source Beta.

Well, Source actually runs, but really… really.. really slow (I know, just wanted to see what it’d look like).  Generals actually runs ok.

Impressive CS-Source worked. But I am sure the FPS sucked

I didn’t do all the things you instructed.  I am kinda lazy like that.  I will try later when I am bored.

It would be kewl if they could make a TR with a x800 or 6800 so we could play doom and hl2 at 1280 with 60fps.

I was looking at all notebooks in general.  And even with the best video card I found for them, which was the mobile 9800 ati.  They just don’t cut it for me.

I am not impressed.  I’ll keep with the small form factor.  I don’t want to go smaller than this though. 

The keyboard and the screen are as small as I can go.

Yeah-source actually ran… but BOY did the frame rate suck.  Which brings me to the question, I wonder if the Sony U70 can run the same games that the TR can?  Same video chipset..native res is 800x600.

heh heh…. my other notebook is a Sager 8790, 17inch 2000lb notebook

Games run beautifully on it (256MB ATI 9700), but man-it’s a pain to haul around (oh, and battery lasts about half an hour while gaming) :D
