For those with TR hard drive issues (noisy or faulty) please leave word if it was an Hitachi or Toshiba drive & size/type.

i have toshiba mk4004gah and it clicks, however when it clicks, it sounds like the head is doing some parking and another weird thing is that when it clicks, the HD light is OFF, no orange light. however when i lock the PC and close the lid (in AC power), sometimes i can see that HD is busy by itself, but then no activity, busy again, but once i unlock the pc, the hd light is off again.
weird, ha?

I aslo have MK4004GAH and get the “clunk” type sound when heads park up. If you had your ear to your desktop HDD you would probably hear a similar thing.
More interested in those with drives that have had failures either needing restoring or drive needing replacing. See if its just Hitachi drives or both.

I have the toshiba one installed and I’d also started a thread on it saying it was clicking every now and then.

Mentioned before that mine clicks - sounds especially noisy when using the internal mic - having said that I reckon it’s normal, and have had no issues with the drive since I bought the TR1 in April!
It’s a Hitatchi BTW

and i’d just like to has that it is something normal for the noise ...a lot of HDD are making that noise ...it doesn’t mean the HDD is broken !
read the info file before using the program
Hey- Thanks the installed the program today. It works like a charm. I hated those disturbing noises from my harddrive. Always, freaked me out and I though it was going to die.

scary. what happens when u hibernate? do the heads stay unparked with this program? what happens during incomplete shutdowns? etc. etc. i would be careful. the normal sounds of a drive are reassuring to me, as they are pretty silent when DEAD. good luck and let us know….
