Ok, I realize a lot of you out there are having problems with not being logged in every time you visit the site. I have made a modification to the cookie to set the session time to a much much longer time. This should fix the problem for most of you. So, the next time you log in the new cookie should be in effect.

Nope, still doesn’t work, gr00vy…still have to manually log in each time I close IE and come back to this site.

Many apologies for your patience Buckerine (and others affected by this). This thing has been driving me crazy as well. Part of it was that I have RoboForm installed and it automatically logs me into any site that I need to be logged into.

Ok, I figured out that the cookie was refusing to write the autologin part to itself for some reason. I’ve completely redone the cookie and now see it adding the autologin part.

So, you’ll probably want to delete the cookie from this site in your internet cache and then re-login again. I’ve tested it on a clean install of XP/IE6 and it seems to be working. Let me know what your results are. Thanks.

The flags for new posts and previous logon time now work for me too.  The auto login always worked for me but I could never tell what was new posts and what wasn’t without manually looking. Now it’s fixed. Thanks.

Hmmmm, I change my mind on that.  It’s only worked a couple of times.  Most of the time the site doesn’t report my correct last login time and because of this it thinks I’ve read all the new posts.  I click on Latest button like others have suggested in another post but it says No New Posts.  Back to searching each forum manually.

I think I’ve got to the bottom of this problem.  I had desktop sidebar set up to get headlines using the RSS feed.  This was interfering with normal visits to the site.  It must have somehow thought when desktop sidebar checked for new headlines that I was visiting the site.

I’ve removed the RSS feed from desktop sidebar for the last week and my login times and Latest post section have been working great.

Maybe I had desktop sidebar set up incorrectly?!?
