lol i know, i’m a glutton. i try to donate stuff like this to the needy in Nepal, but u know, they can’t use it.  its just too geeky.  i once tried to teach a class on MS Project and the Nepalese just laughed.  One man said, “we plan as if we have everything on the top of our head.  the things that fall off, ehh.”  So the idea of a personal digital assistant is about as useful as a personal reminder to wipe ur butt.  I guess.

seriously, u raise an important point ( i bet u didn’t relize that).  Isn’t it better to buy/sell/trade with others who u know or are somehow tied too in even this minute way, as we are here in TR world?  I think so.

One thing i missed this summer the most about being away from Asia is the way we shop there.  As i have been doing lots of shopping in the us this summer, i have really missed the vendors i know at home, who when i want a battery or a loaf of bread - i go see, sit with, have a tea, and discuss life and the pursuit of happiness with for at least 30 minutes or so before buying anything at all.  i catch up with thier families, thier situation, etc. here, in the us, i am lucky to get a smile out of a spaky surferdude. mostly i get nothing at all in the form of human interaction and it makes me think that ebay is actually more friendly than retail here in the OC.  Okay, i’ll quit complaining about things i can’t change:)
