[quote author=“linc”]those with t1’s.. there’s are 1300mAh batteries available(oem NP-FT1 is only 680mAh). unsure of how well it works but..
1300mah would be nice, however…
A Google search turned up no reference to the manufacturer
The seller registered on eBay last month and has 0 feedback.
Shipping is $15 (insurance $2) putting the price at $45 shipped.
I think I’d rather take a chance on this in my expensive little camera. It does offer a bit more juice than the OEM:
[quote author=“dbs”][quote author=“nhc538”]as i am a gadget freak myself…i am thinking of upgrading to a w1 or v1. there have been too many complaints regarding “shaky” pictures, mostly due to the fact that there is no eyehole in the t1.
It isn’t the eyehole, err. viewfinder, it’s that the camera is so small that it has very little mass. Inertia will help stabilize a heavier camera. The T1 requires a little conscious effort on the part of the user.
dbs, you are both right and wrong. You need a camera that allows enough light in to capture a better photo. When you squint your eyes, the picture isn’t as good. Follow?
I have 2 1300 batteries as well as the stock one…honestly I dont notice too much of a difference between them except the non-oem ones dont hold the charge (outside of the camera) as long as the OEM ones.
For example, the OEM would give me 100 shots, the extended I would get 125, but I could charge the OEM and use it a month later where the non-oem I must use within 2 weeks or it will be dead. {not real #s, just using as example}

Ah, I stand corrected. You scientific types always confuse me. So, because the T1 is so small that you have to squint to see it, it limits the light going into the camera… thus causing blurry pictures. :?:
dbs, I meant to say when you squint, the ability for your eyes to see is not as good as if they were wide open. It was an analogy. Sorry if it was short on accuracy.

Sorry, didn’t catch your analogy and thought you were joking. Yes the small lens on the T1 doesn’t collect as much light as it’s big brothers. That means it’s shutter has to stay open longer in low light situations so any movement (camera or subject) causes blurring. In bright light it’s not an issue.
The T1 only opens to f3.5 which is a really slow lens. Sony’s high end DSC-F828 opens to f2.0. Get a Nikon D70 and you can stuff on a lens fast as f1.4.
[quote author=“gr00vy0ne”][quote author=“deathstar”]My only complaint ... there’s no horseshoe for the external flash. :(
you mean hotshoe….
8)
i used DSC-P5 model;there aren’t any slot for hotshoe, but they’re selling an external flash; does it needs cable to connect from my camera to an external flash?

Professionals have used slaved flashes for years. The light from the primary flash triggers one or more secondary flash units.
I know nothing about these products, but they’re a good example of the concept and should work with the T1 or other cameras without hotshoes or flash sync jacks.
[quote author=“t1-newbie”]Just bought the T-1, but it dosent seem to have a black and white mode, is this right?
if so any ideas why…i quite like shooting in B&W
cheers :D
[quote author=“jso902”]my only two complaint is that sony never didn’t reinforce the back with a hard plastic and the tripod hole is on a separate 30$ case
a good squeeze’ll probably break the lcd =(
Yeah but a good squeeze on any sizeable lcd would break it. Damn you laws of physics
