Does anyone use EX71SL with pcga-jr1. how are they perform together.

If you like in-ear headphones, and want good isolation and good response, I recommend Shure e2c, and the e5c if you have the money.  Even the ‘low-end’ (i use the term loosely here) ones sound incredible and blew me away.  The $99 pricetag was easily justified after one listen.

the extension works fine..the cord is alittle bit short to use by itself..

i have the 71xl

unless you have an in-line remote, i’d recommend the sony mdr-51xl rather than the mdr-71xl

the 51 is the same as the 71 but without the break in cord.  also, the 71’s extension cord is hella long.

as an in-canal headphone, it’s probably one of the better ones for its price.  however, if you’re really audiophillic and demand more, getting a higher brand (i.e. shures, etymonics… etc etc) will sound good, but it’ll also cost you.  oh! and btw, not eveyrone is comfortable with stuff stuck down their ear canal. best of luck testing’em out

I picked up a pair of MDR-EX51LP at buy.com for $25. Wanted something small that if lost wouldn’t pain me and with decent sound. I find them comfortable. While not high-end, exceptional sound for the price.

No. Identical to the MDR-EX71SL with no cord extension. Cord is 4ft.

Sony should really concentrate on making the white versions of MDR-EX71SL headphones where ever they officially sell the TR’s. I think thats a good buisness strategy.
Anyway i think sony could learn a thing or 2 about Buisness Strategies from this forum. What people really need is what they should concentrate on making. I guess i am going off topic here, but they really suck at providing people what they really need. Its one way of saving money by releasing certain things in some places, and ignoring the production of the same elsewhere, but then we moan and whine about it on the forums all the time. Wouldnt it be so good to have the things we want? We are ready to pay for them, and its not like sony leave any stone unturned in charging us lustfully.

Another vote for the Shure from me.  These are unbelievable for small headphones.
