I’ve been trying to find any place in the UK that sells these, but they seem to have disappeared - even PC World no longer has them.  Has anyone seen one recently in either a retail or online shop?

Failing that, any experience with the Targus equivalent?  And does anyone know if the accessories are interchangeable??

Exactly - not worth the cost.  I bought the Targus one in the end:

So far works great with both my IBM (work) laptop and the TR.  They don’t seem to have the peripheral powering bits yet, but I’m sure they will in time.  I suspect this is actually the same unit as the iGo and the parts may be interchangeable, but not verified that as yet.

how much were they? you could of gotten brand new igo70 for about 50 us dollars on ebay.. they ship worldwide.

Since this discussion is about the iGo let me ask a related question…

I couldn’t find a power outlet (i.e. the sockets used by airlines) in any of the economy class of swissair flights that I flew. When I was going to India they upgraded me to business class till zurich…I found a regular flat pin outlet used in USA so didn’t bother looking for the typical airline sockets. But in the economy class I just couldn’t fine one :?

if they place outlets for every seat on the plane..and if everyone utilitze it.. it might overload the generators.. defintely not a good thing..plus they want you to pay extra to fly business or first class..they gotta make the classes somewhat different to justify the additional cost. 

thats the most stupid thing…if thats really the case, then these iGo people are cheats…they never mentioned you must be in the business class to use their stupid adapter…besides rather than spending all the extra money in business class I’d prefer to buy a couple of bp3t’s.

Yes, I had considered (seriously) the iGo from eBay, but I think I’ve learned my lesson with buying things from the US.  It may be cheaper to start with, but in the long run if something goes wrong you end up paying.  That and the shipping back and forth either 1) takes ages or 2) costs a fortune!  That’s not to mention customs/vat.

Unless the savings are dramatic I don’t think I’ll be bothering with US in the future.  My TR’s hard drive went recently and it would have been a real hassle to ship back for warranty repair - ended up costing a bit to fix it myself.

As for the airline seat power, I think on some carriers they are starting to provide power in all cabins (I think you have to request these seats at checkin as not all seats in all cabins have them).  The older planes it’s definitely only business/first.  If you check their websites they usually publish this information.
