at first i thought i was a little delusional about hd noise and temperature, but there’s a significant difference betweeen the two
the hitachi tends to run cooler and quieter while the toshiba spins louder and runs several degrees hotter. but i’m not sure about how accurate the temperature difference is since we both have different background software. However, the idle spin sound is definitely louder in the toshiba
odd eh? i would have thought their cooling/hd control was very similar.
I’m not sure as to how accurate this is, but i just compared my TR (toshiba) with a friend’s TR (hitachi)
now i kinda miss the hitachi drive. i just wish it didn’t have so many problems.
Sadly to say, I’m going to be sending in my friend’s TR for a prospective error message by SMART. The message stated “this drive has a high probability of hd failure. please press F1 to continue”
:(
muahah and to think we’re running out of topics for the TR! I need to drag all those that fell in the dark side!
