as for the widescreen, i recommend CNET’s pricegrabber and flatscreen comparison, because though you may think you may getting a good deal, many cheap flatscreens out there have crap specs.

For what it’s worth, the pundits at PC Mag do a fair job of weeding out the real losers. I got my planar based partially on their review. They ranked the color balance. accuracy and resolution right up there but marked it down for its narrower viewing angle. Saved 2-300 over the “better” units.
You should give some thought on how you’re going to use it. If, unlike my use, two or more people need to see it, then wider viewing-angle is important. If it’s also your TV/Video, then wide-screen would definately be in order. If you’re going to do more than casual photo editing, then color balance and accuracy are important. If money is no object, you can have it all :drool:
