I was going through both these laptops very closely today at a shop, and i think i have come to realize that the screen in TR is actually a bit lighter in resolution than the screen in S type. I mean it certainly looks like the screen in S type has a richer resolution. I dont know, may be i was wrong, but for the sake of it i changed the TR wall paper to the exact same one that the S type had and it still looked like the S type screen is brighter.
It is probably the evolution of XBrite. I do not have an ‘S’ series notebook, so we will have to get feedback from those who do. I would expect the screen to be a bit better on the newer notebook.
My initial impression was that my TR screen is brighter - I have my S1 at full brightness most of the time, but not the TR - having said that the TR is in my studio which is darker than the rest of the place, maybe that accounts for it.
Or it might just be that that particular TR had been on display for a long time and it’s back light (as groovy had discussed on 1 post) had started getting dimmer.
I have put both TR5 and S side by side on the same table! The screen of S-Series is slightly brighter than the TR-series. Both are brand new of course and the S-series was delivered just three weeks after TR5
wadham, are you asking about the screen of the S-series or the TR?
The TR’s screen seems uniform; I do not have the S-series with me now, it’s at work and abroad until mid Sept., so I cannot tell you!
