go to sonystyle.com, vaio notebooks, clearance, new pre-built, you will see that there is at least 50 S series prebuilt on clearance.  probably they have your dream setup for less…

I wonder why they would have them on clearance?  Are they having trouble selling them?  Maybe they are just trying to draw people who may be on the fence to purchase before the next school year.  Its weird since they just released the ‘S’ series. :?

Clearance S’s (or any other ones on clearance) are usually custom-built orders that have been cancelled by the customer before they were shipped.  Or payment problems arose.  Instead of having to keep track of when another order comes in with the exact same specs, they just throw a minimal discount on them and list them as “clearance.”

The TRs actually went through the same thing when they came out so this is nothing new. It’s usually because of buyer’s remorse. I suspect some people stopped orders because they wanted to wait for some of the special deals they’ve been throwing around every couple of weeks. Also, the price dropped on the model just a few weeks after it was introduced so people probably cancelled their orders last minute. Or, they may have stopped by a Sony Style store and picked up the lesser S150 models. This kind of thing happens a lot…Dell probably has it worse than Sony does and is always offering clearance models.
