[quote author=“Lumpy”][I have the same issue. If you ask me, Symantec is dragging their feet on purpose. I’ve read that Longhorn will include built-in Virus protection. That’s going to cost companies like Symantec dearly.
No Longhorn won’t have built in virus protection. But Microsoft is releasing their own Anti-Virus software which will NOT be included with their Windows operating system (I’m betting becasue of anti-competative lawsuit worries).
As for Norton not working I have hear people say the Security Center works find while others say it can’t detect Nortons. I read a while back that there is an update that needs to be downloaded (Live Update should have it) to make it work with the Security Center.
But I can tell you that Trend Micro Internet Security 2004 works flawlessly with the Security Center. I also head (but can’t confirm) that AVG Free Anti-Virus works and so does McAfree.
