[quote author=“gr00vy0ne”]For those of you who installed the Netegriti EM-500AG cards, here’s an updated driver I found on Fujitsu’s site that has the latest version of the driver and an updated Atheros Clienty Utility. It also happens to support 108Mbps and SuperG technologies assuming your chipset supports it. I don’t think the Netegriti cards do but the ACU is updated for even more control.
Yes, I read the news about that mini PCI module being offered to public and sold sometime in fall. It seems to be a promising a/b/g module. Nice article.

Just my 2 cents
I would really recommend to think about this upgrade carefully before doing it. Sure it sounds neat to have Wireless b/g and a on board but who actually uses (and needs)g or a? I have a Japanese TR5 which coms equiped with a/b/g and I use g at home and in the office, but I know that b would easily be fast enough most of the time. When I am on the road Wireless b is all you can get at public hotspots and well Wirless a ... I don’t know how popular it is in the USA but in Germany it is virtually nonexistant. Just my opinion, I understand when people want a bluetooth upgrade but an upgrade to g/a (all newer US modells should come with b/g anyway). Of course the coolness / geek factor surley increases with every upgrade :D
Yes, it all depends on your preference and usage. I use 802.11a strictly for streaming video, and b/g for net surfing and hotspots. Some corporations in the US use “a” as well for huge data transfers in non-obstructive 5Ghz environment.

Just wanted to say thanks to gr00vy0ne for providing such detailed instructions on replacing the wireless card in the TR.
Ive always wanted a faster card ad was using a sitecom 802.11g PCMCIA. But for some reason, having this thing sticking out the end annoyed the hell out of me.
If i hadn’t see these instructions i would never had attempted it.
So i ordered a 802.11g intel 2200 3B card, i nervously took my baby apart and replaced it.
All went smoothly and it works like a charm.
once again does a great upgrade tutorial….You are crazy talented…..I am not confident enough to open my TR myself….But, I love reading and looking at your play by play steps….
