Hi Everyone - I have a question, and this is driving me nuts
I have a TR1MP which obviously has a Motion Eye camera. Basically, the problem is that when I push the capture button, or if I click on the Network Smart Capture icon on my desktop, the software does open but the camera ‘screen’ says ‘no input’.
With the help of a friend, I have been reading through this forum and I have seen some references to updates which need to be made in Device Manager, ie checking the third (or all) the USB root hubs listed to make sure that the Sony Visual Camera is updated properly, but no matter where I look on my computer, there is no mention of a Sony camera (or ANY camera) listed. Its as if the camera has never been installed.
I have done searches of the computer for any reference to it, but there’s nothing at all. I have also searched through the Sony UK website to see if I can find a driver for the camera, but although I have downloaded files for the TR1MP which downloaded as ‘drivers’, there actually isnt a driver in that file.
When I bought this computer in February, the same thing happened - I was using the camera, it was working fine, but then one day I got the ‘no image’ thing. So I reinstalled the software from the disc that came with it, and that did fix the problem. However, the problem here is that I now cannot find that disc anywhere.
I’ve tried so many things over the past few days to get the camera to work, but nothing helps. When I go into the tool box thing in the capture software and click on Cam/Mic selection, the drop down box for priority camera says ‘None (Auto Selection’), but there is no other camera listed there to choose from, and I cant figure out how to add one. Also, I have never plugged another camera into this laptop, so the Motion Eye wouldnt have been deleted by the use of another camera.
Ive tried adding new hardware (from Control Panel) but when the computer searches for hardware that has recently been installed, nothing is found.
I’m really lost here - I’m not a computer expert (far from it) so if anyone could offer some advice, that would be great. Obviously I do feel stupid for having misplaced the disc that came with the laptop…. as this probably would have solved the problem.
Thanks a lot, Allan
