Just upacked my new TR3. I’m excited.

Went thru the setup (other than registration) and decided to make those damned recovery discs…  Geeze. Tells me I’m gonna make 9 of them and that each one is gonna take 15 minutes. What are those idiots thinking? Someone spends 2 thou on your product and you do something stupid to make them wonder where else you cut corners…

Before I even let this virgin out onto the web I’m going to wipe out AOL and RealOne. Then install ZoneAlarm and AdAware. Then windows update.

Any other first time suggestions?

BTW, I notice this machine has Office 2003 installed. Never saw any mention of this on the Sony or NewEgg site. Did I just luck out with a bonus?

I believe you have a 60-day trial version of Office 2003. If you decide to keep it after 60-days you’ll have to pay for it. I think you do get some sort of deal so it may be worth getting it if you need it. A lot of the software included on the TR can be upgraded for a special price directly through the vendors.

Didn’t check, just saw the icon and a Certificate of Authenticity—after putting on my reading glasses, the fine print says trial version.

Ah, well…  guess I’ll see what the activation price is.
