Anyone know this card could fit in TR1 ?

The dimensions are close to a IIIB card, so it should fit. Why not go with the Intel 2200 one though? It’s only $50 and I would trust it over a third-party unit.

Wouldn’t you run into software problems trying to install it? I mean, it’s non sony, and even if you have upgraded to Win XP, wouldn’t it conflict w/ Sony’s internal hardware?

For the most part, no. It’s a standard MiniPCI slot and Windows XP handles that and not the Sony hardware. As long as there are Windows XP drivers and it fits then it should work.

i know this is a dumb question, but is intel’s 2200 (B/G)WIFI certified?  (seeing how this was a topic with the netgiri card.) 

Also, would the power consumption also be as low as the 2100 (B)model in my computer? 

I’d like to stick with intel because i haven’t had any problems with it and I’d also like to stay as close to original specs as possible.  Plus I can rightfully say it’s still a centrino. 

Groovy, do you ever connect at 104MB on your netgiri?

I haven’t been able to connect at 108Mbps as it only works in 802.11a mode. While it would be nice, I don’t really care since 108Mbps is not a real standard.

The Intel 2200BG should have identical performance as the 2100B…meaning it will be high performing while using less power. So, it’s a good upgrade.

You should probalby start a list of mini-pci options in either the review, or in the forum topic regarding the upgrade, as there are now many options, where the review seems to hint at only the 1.
