Hello,
I hope this is kewl for me to post here. I don’t have a TR (have a GRX). I am trying to find out if anyone here has any experience or knowledge of the PCGA-UTV10 Vaio USB GigaPocket External TV device. I have the opportunity to get one fairly cheap, but I haven’t been able to find out if it will actually be usable in the US on a US Vaio.
I couldn’t install the software on my US TR, it said it wasn’t for this model computer even though it works with the Japanese TR. If you can return it, i’d say go for it, if you can’t i’d stay away from it, 99% you cannot install the software.
BTW, I tried 3 different versions of the software, all with the same result (one installed but wouldn’t run).
[quote author=“linc”]does any one know if the vr100k made for the clie’s will function as a tv tuner for the tr since it has a built in tv tuner??
now that’s a quirky looking device! now that the CLIE’s dead, i wonder if they will cut the price? from various descriptions, it does not seem to have any outputs but the stick - if true, what a laugh. i wonder how many people actually watched videos on a clie, flics like Doctor Zhivago.
[quote author=“linc”]At the back is a VHF/UHF/Cable-In jack, line-in (video & audio) jacks, line-out (video & audio) jacks, and a DC in connector.
so its kinda like a tv-tuner/dvd player that also has a memstick slot eh? ill keep that in mind the next time i need a DVD player for my home system. are the playback specs for the DVD compariable with others? no svideo out? thx
thanks for that! but at 15 frames per second it’s pretty worthless, inmho., now what clies are dead i suppose so is this device - the idea of a digital VCR is a really good one, but maybe it should record to a mini HD…wish i could figure out what to do with my 128mb duo stick. i guess it’s another device destined for the junk drawer…
