Weird non-TR question, but I’m hoping one of you guys can give me a definitive answer.

I have a Sony SRX-77, which has no internal CD or floppy drive.  The CD drive is PCMCIA; the floppy drive is USB.

If I were to replace the hard drive with a new one (without doing any preparation of the new drive prior to installing it), will the computer still recognize the external CD drive (so I can use the System Restore CD to return the hard drive to it’s original OEM condition)?
