Since I’m lazy and don’t want to make ANY recovery cds, can I just use my other copy of xp pro (bought for home-built desktop, so not brand specific). I would use the product key off the TR of course. Using Rahul’s generously uploaded files, would that be enough to get rid of these damn partitiions!

Technically, you should be able to do this. Just be prepared for the possible headaches along the way. Thankfully, there’s plenty of guides here on how to do it but just know what you’re getting into and you’ll be fine.

The only thing I can imagine happening is that your TR key may not work with your copy of XP. Occasionally, Microsoft uses distinct keys for retail, OEM, and corporate copies of Windows XP. So, I’ve seen retail keys not work on corporate copies or OEM keys not working on retail copies.

I have installed XP SP2 on my TR1 and all working very well!
Motion eye, FN Keys, volume buttons…
And all this in turkish. I think all languages are working… :wink:

Besides the files, here’s a tutorial as well to guide you. The only problem you might face as mentioned by groovy is the serial number not working.
