That is why I said I dislike titles. If we are only giving credit to the titles themselves, then Judaism is the oldest religion and christianity is only 2,000 years old. You are right.
However, I am not paying respect to titles. I am recognizing that the God who created this world is the one true God, and that faith in his only son is the only way to inherit the Kingdom of heaven.
Let’s use the analogy you gave. The Sony TR represents Judaism, and the Erik TR represents Christianity. The Erik TR has just as much claim to Sony as the regular TR. So a book written about the TR would encompass both. Would it not?
Now, if Sony came out and said that the Erik TR was the new standard, and the regular TR was dead. Why would you hang on to the old TR unless you were just plain nostalgic.
This is the case with God. He came out and said that the new law has completed or done away with the old law. This is why we no longer have to sacrifice the blood of animals on the alter. Jesus was the final sacrifice. The jews need not be to blame, because he did this of his own free will. Faith in his shed blood and a life that seeks the truth he brought to this fallen world as being God himself, the creator of the dirt you walk on, is all that is needed to be reconciled with the creator. Does this help?
can i just say i believe in A God? i’m pretty sure denominations were made by humans, so i’ll just cut the mediators out and talk straight to whatever God i want.

Thats similar to how I feel. What upsets me more then anything is most wars are caused over religious reasons (or claim to be). I’d gladly change what I believe if we could all settle on one religion and end all the petty bickering.

That is exactly right! Denominations are just that: people arguing over what they think the bible says. Cutting the mediators out is also the best idea. Talk all you want to whatever God you want, but first you should study hard to find out which one to serve. There are many Gods out there that man has created in his mind. Some serve the God of money, and others the God of perversion and lust. Some spend many years of their life training their bodies to earn a golden medal that will only tarnish and fade with their pathetic life. I have unknowingly served these gods myself.
Basically, your actions show your allegiance. Whatever you spend the most of your awake time doing….that is your God…..whether you agree with that or not, its true. When you stand in the face of your maker and he denies you access because you put other things (gods) before him, you will recall in horror the words on this thread. This is, after all the first (and most important) commandment.

Yes, but you can’t ignore the fact that the Erik TR only came about because the Sony TR was there and the Sony TR was first.

The book of revelation tells of such things. I would only encourage you to take an absolute stand on something. It is dangerous to serve the god of “whatever the masses have collectively compromised to believe in”.
There is no reward in what you speak of. The true path is narrower than you think. Truth will not bend to suit peoples fancy. It never has. Don’t take my word for it. There are too many examples to mention in just the Old Testament, the one you hold belief in.
It is innocent statements like you just made that have started entire new religions / denominations. Don’t take on the likeness of sheep and follow the happy safe road. You know what eventually happens to sheep. They never rely on their own insticts, or pay any heed to truth. They just follow the crowd.

Not that what I suggest would ever happen, but it would need to be complete…one religion for everyone…whatever religion that may be.

Do we thank the regular TR for this, or Sony? Keeping the same analogy…..Sony would be God, and the TR would be God’s people.
I do not see why it is important who existed first.
It may be more appropriate to say that the Erik TR came through the Regular TR, not because of it.

Yes!!! Complete!! You’ve almost got it. This is what the nation of Israel cried right before the birth of Christ. That is exactly why Christ came, but not everyone likes what he brought to the table.
You need to read the book, my friend. You will be surprised at what Truth says.

To me, it’s not, but I won’t sit by while someone says Chrisitianity was the first religion when its pretty clear that it came after Judaism.
As for my TR statement, I hadn’t considered God in any of it, just religion. Sony TR came first, ie Judaism. Erik TR added on to Sony TR, ie Christianity.
Not that what I suggest would ever happen, but it would need to be complete…one religion for everyone…whatever religion that may be.

Again, your not listening to me, everyone would have to accept the same religion, not just one group (you in this case) who thinks their religion is correct. Just because you think Christ was the savior doesn’t mean we all do. IF we could all agree on one religion, i’d jump aboard…but now when a select few (majority or no) believe that. I would be willing to abadon my current religion even if it was a completely new one, Sonyism, that everyone agreed to follow…one religion, life would be better, IMO.

Where are you getting this? I never originally set to prove who was first, I only meant to infer that its roots lead back to creation. I also mentioned that I do not separate Christianity and Judaism for the sake of timelines, since they share the same historical timeline. Adam and Eve were first, if you want to get technical, and they were not jewish nor did they claim to be part of any religion. Titles are the only thing confusing here.
Let’s just say that the bible is the only book that dates back to the creation of the world and start over. No other religiously affiliated book even comes close to making this claim. So why would anyone want to follow a religion that stemmed from an already existing world. That, in effect, would make it a man made religion. Biblical Truth cannot be man made since it started with a God that claims to have created this rock we spin around on.
Erik, we are headed to a one world religion, centered by the Vatican. The Jesuits will see to this. I would not jump on board this bandwagon when it happens, Erik. It will turn out to be the Antichrist system at heart. Again, do not take my word for it. Read it for yourself. Prophesy in the book of Revelation tells us that many will jump on that false religion bandwagon because of the miracles and cool stuff that come out of it. Billions of humans will embrace it in a Euphoric atmosphere. I hope you do not join that group. If you discipline yourself to read the very book you claim to be ajoined to, you will run for the hills when that day comes, if in our lifetime. The same God that created this world and both you and I has some terrible wrath planned for those people.
What I say makes no difference. Only what you find when you chase down truth as if your sould depends on it…....because it does.
You do not have to respond anymore if you only seek to defend Judaism. I do not seek to defend Christianity. Religion sucks. All of it. I only seek to give people a reason to find answers to all those questions you would ask if God showed up in your living room and told you he would answer your questions. Most of the answers are in the book. However, you may not like or accept those answers. But that doesn’t mean truth must change because we don’t like it. How can creation say to the creator, I don’t like the way you did things? Preposterous! Some questions you will never know the answer to because how can something that is finite (humans) understand something that is infinite (our creator)?
To anyone who genuinely seeks real truth: its there if you want it bad enough, but it is not what you expected.
