I’ve decided to axe the cable into the house and limp by foor a while only using my T-Mobile hotspot account for personal internet use (With the trusty TR3) 8) . I don’t think the hotspot account includes email addresses, so I guess I’ll have to set up a web based email address, like MSN or Yahoo!
I’ve never used any of these guys (except for an ancient, unpleasant Juno experience) so I don’t know which providers are better than others. I do use “My Yahoo! as my start page, so I gusee I could work them in pretty painlessly. . .
What do you think?
Do you like any one over the others? Why?
What should I look out for and what should I expect?
Thanks, O gurus of all things silicon (and silicone) based!
I use Hotmail and GMail, and I like them both. GMail is too new for me to decide if its stable or not.
I’ve been using Hotmail for years without any serious issues. On occation I cannot login and there isn’t much space they provide you. I like hotmail because I can use Outlook Express (or outlook) as well as check it via the web when I am away from my PC.
The *best* free web mail available, hugely configurable, will let you access multiple pop accounts as well as letting you access both hotmail and yahoo from within your fastmail account.
I’ve been using Yahoo Mail ever since it’s conception, and I have never had any problems with it. Now you automatically get 100mb of space which is awesome! The nice thing about free web-based email is that you can sign up for all of them, try them out for nothing, and decide which one of them is best for you.
I recently dumped CompuServe in favor of Yahoo. I have been VERY happy with Yahoo so far and it has made things much easier using an internet based email service.
I don’t get sites like these…if the government really wants to read your e-mail, they will just do it…plain and simple. Legal, illegal, whatever. If your that paranoid, don’t bother going online.

a bit naive of u erik, - to think that just the gvt would/will do this to u. a divorce attorney will as well, heaven forbid. while the page is a bit micheal moorish, i think the point is valid. ur privacy is under attack in many ways these days, and sites like gmail are doing nothing to help.
