Anyone else have this problem-
When i use stardock,(which i use to launch objectdock), i loose the tapping function of my mouse pad. and i have to reboot.
I use mobydock without any problems, but I did update direct x to the latest version.
as to the side bar, no problems with fitting on the screen here, and it gives active newsfeed as well as stock updates etc. I use the auto hide feature and i have removed some of the panels.

I want to Customize my TR
I was trying to decide with one to use StyleXP or WindowBlinds ?
Which one is better ??
I want one that doesn’t take up too much resource.
Wonder if there is website that did a comparsion with the two

Personally, I think they’re about equal in terms of performance and resource usage. Stardock claims that WB can actually be faster than default Windows XP skins but I have yet to see it. I use StyleXP on my TR but use WB on my desktop. Both seem to work equally well.

im using styleXP on a trial and i like it alot. ive made my TR look so mch like mac OSx that when i am out and people look over my shoulder they say, “oh, u have an apple.”  its 20USD however.

i also use yZdock, which after a strange bug that went away, looks great.

then, i used rainmeter to finish off the desktop…love it.

i also just downloaded opera 7.51 and u can apply skins to that, so the “switch” to mac is just about complete.

i don’t think these programs use much resourse but i have 1gig mem, so it prob does not matter much.

The lowest-overhead way of getting themes is using the uxtheme patcher . That uses Windows native ability to use the same themes that StyleXP does. There’s exactly the same overhead as using the default XP theme.

Thats the approch I’m using right now (I finally broke down and installed some custom themes).  It doesn’t allow you to do some of the cool things WindowBlinds does but you also don’t have to use extra resources for the WindowBlinds custom skinning engine.  The only downside is when new Windows service packs come our the patcher usually has to be rewritten and reapplied (but the guys who make the patcher have had it ready before either XP service pack was released) since Microsoft likes to reapply thier uxtheme.dll file.  But the best part about the patcher is the price… free (thats a big thing for me)!

for people trying to use neowins stuff:
Lots of problems for people apparently (it doesn’t work with SP2 it seems).

Bu ti think i’ll bail on this as it looks like the site sare down to get the patched dll’s and there’s probs with SP2.
