Yeah, I’ve seen it as well. However, it sure beats a lot of the junk they make today where at the end of the commercial you are still left wondering who the company was.
Honda put a lot of cool subliminal messages in peoples heads with that one…..very effective.
[quote author=“nox”]Old stuff, but still. 600 and SIX takes. That’s perseverence.

biggest crock i have ever heard.
This thing is CGI assisted man! Let’s look at the logic;
1. never believe anything you see on TV
2. no agency in their right mind would ever approve a shoot that had the potential to goto 600 takes or more, or indeed ever get it right.
3. Whole ad can be doen look as good and be a mix of real and cgi and the marketing you get from saying it was real is worth twice the budget spend.
No way this was actually done.
I can just imagine the pitch “yeah well we wanna do this ad where it’s all woring like a domino thing and even though we’ve choreographed it it might never work but hey we may get it in a 100 takes. So we need maybe $200.000 US, or maybe more. Hell if it takes a month let’s spend a mill!”
or….
“we could fake up the thing with a bit of CGI assistance and it will look so real you’ll think we really did it and it will be exactly on budget and time, gimmee $200K US.”
“Well?”
“OK option 2 and here’s the check, but say you did option 1.”
Well I still think it was option 1!! I used to have a video about the making of the advert which definately showed it being done for real…. Unless they faked that as well
Seen it before, didn’t believe it then, still don’t now. The Tires rolling up the hill appear to gain momentum suddenly…among other issues I see…call me crazy.

I agree, that did appear weird…may be the tires had strings attached (which would kill the cool factor of the entire ad) to them which assisted them to keep on moving.
[quote author=“Mighty Matt”]Well you could make the tires roll up hill if you had weights balanced just right on their insides… well that’s what I thought they did!!
Yeah I thought of that, but then the way they are positioned and the way the second tire almost jumps when being hit makes me wonder.
