Yeah, i’m on my vacation right now, and as a typical geek, i’m on my TR. I am on a Carnival cruise to Canada from NY. I didn’t have more then a few days so this trip was perfect. The first thing I did when I got onboard was buy WiFi minutes. 110 Minutes for $55…not too bad. I didn’t buy more because I can connect with my Cell Phone via USB…but once I get into Canada the price jumps because i’m roaming.

So anyway, I go to the ‘Internet Cafe’ and I find out that there are 2 computer conventions onboard…there was over 50 people there with notebooks. I whip out my TR and a crowd forms around me. The girl who signs us up made a comment on how cool my notebook was. Everyone had questions on the system for me…really neat.

Anyway, i’m gonna run…i’ve been taking some cool pics, figured i’d share a few…

Day #1: Check-in

Cool - looks like a lot of fun.  I actually just ordered my TR today - very excited.  You didn’t take that picture with your TR, did you?  Looks like a really nice picture.  The one I looked at at Fry’s looked like it had a pretty crappy camera - so my expectations for photos weren’t high.

Anyway, have a blast!

Last night i tore up the casino, made enough money to buy a bunch of accessories for my TR…yum.

the sonytr cam program’s pretty easy to use, and because you can set it up as a usb cam, other programs recognize it, (ie webcams) thus, with a net connection and cam link, you can have streaming video.  I think there’s a post by Erik on it.

is that some plane museum?..i see a concorde there.

It’s the USS Intrepid, a sea/air museum. Yes, that’s a British Airways Concorde. It’s one of NY’s millions of tourist traps.  :D

cool…how does 1 get there??... the subway route I mean if at all they go there…and also if u could let me know the price and if they allow visitors to go inside the concorde.  :D

I might just go there after returning to US.

I haven’t been there since I was a kid… It’s on the pier at 46th street on the west side of Manhattan. The ACE is probably your best bet, but it’s still a couple-block hike. It has a website .

Yeah thats the Intrepid. The Concorde showed up yesterday and will start allowing people to view it tomorrow. It’s kinda neat, I may go when we dock early next week.

WiFi only works in the computer room and they charge more if you use your own notebook,....not sure why.

Most expsensive plan is 250 minutes for $100.00 bring your own notebook. 60 minutes for $24.00 use theirs.

It was easy to setup.
