People, Sony released a Water-Cooled Desktop and not one thread discussing it?

Housed within the progressive design of the RA710G are next generation features that make this computer like no other. Its advanced liquid cooling system drastically improves the heat reduction process, while the enhanced acoustic technologies make operation virtually silent.
Other features include a double-layer DVD drive, which allows you to create videos up to four hours long. The VAIO Software Creation Suite Plus enables enhanced music, photo and video editing, and turns your computer into a high-tech home entertainment system.

• Double Layer DVD Burner
This new feature allows for up to 4 hours of DVD quality video. And with its analog-to-digital conversion of video and music, you’ll be able to record and save even your longest home videos forever.
• Advanced Liquid Cooling System
The powerful liquid cooling system pulls heat away from the CPU and dissipates it through an exchanger, ensuring ultimate performance without the noise or hassle of traditional cooling systems.
• Improved Acoustics
Noise reduction is at the core of the R’s design. With enhancements in the optical drive, hard drive, power supply and graphics card, you’ll hardly know it’s on. The RA710 achieves impressive improvement in acoustics, and by eliminating the distraction of a noisy computer, you’ll be able to work and play in peace.
• Personal Video Recorder
Powered by Sony Giga Pocket Engine, you’ll be able to pause, rewind and replay live TV. Now you’ll never have to worry about missing your favorite shows. Includes a remote control for easy TV and movie viewing.
$1,599 after $100 Rebate.
Not bad for all you get, plus its an interesting looking design.
Personally, I think it’s a cool system, and for Sony, it’s not a bad price. I still want a W series for my next desktop, but I don’t think I have the room until a TV I own dies…lol.
It’s official: Sony wants to be the PC version of Apple . The case design fucking rocks! I would almost buy one to gut it and put in proper hardware. The two things that really bother me are the video card (a GeForce 5200 can’t even drive my 1600x1200 LCD) and the audio card (I need 6-channel outputs for my reciever).

I’m otherwise quite impressed.
Actually, with the recent spew of Apple design-imitators lately, (even Sony, with the TR’s modeling,) I’m glad Sony’s continuing with its jet-black/fiber look. It’s much sleeker than the white of Apple.
I take it back (except for the sound card). I just looked at the R series configurator. They offer an ATi X800 and 4-disk 1.6 TB RAID stripe as an option.

Sony have to be thanked for giving us pc’s that make you want to use them for their looks as well as whats under the hood. Don’t you guys feel a bit smug when you pull out your TR compaired with all the other drab bricks others are using around you.

Oh yeah. Its awesome when people give me looks when I pull out the TR. I get so many questions on the system…especially when they lug a 10+ lb PC that does the same things my TR does.
[quote author=“tifosiv122”]Yummy. What was the after configured price?
They wanted about $1300 over the base 160GB drive, which brought it to about $3000 with no other upgrades. Click the Customize button on the R series page and have fun.

I’m smug enough without the TR.
Configured a way i’d be happy with, $2205.99 plus the rebate. Not bad. Most of my PC’s have cost around $2k when purchased.
