Ok. I have been on this forum for awhile now and STILL don’t have a TR. I bought a Tosh desktop replacement last year as my home system. It is a great unit with the CV Screen, DVD burner, Nvida 5600 64M Ram and Windows Media ed. OS. Problem is I cant take the beast with me do to size and weight. So I am ready to get a new NB. I can get a used Fujitsu T70E (import model with 60G HD and DVD burner) for $1850. I can get the Sony TR new for $1879 or wait on the Sony S. I really don’t need the GPU as I wont be playing any games on the NB. I am really stuck at this point. I know this is a loaded question but what do you think I should do and why?

Mine is definitely a biased answer, but I am very happy with my TR.  It is truly a mobile device and I do take it everywhere.  I guess the question is how long do you want to wait.  If you want something in the very near future I recommend the TR.  I don’t think too many people on this forum are unhappy with their TRs.

Thanks for the reply Jet! Ya, I think I am going to buy the TR from New Egg on Tuesday. Hope you had a good Dad’s Day! I had fun with my kids and got to watch my wife mow the lawn!

warning: i ordered my TR from newegg two weeks ago. make sure everything gets verified…because laptops are “high risk” they have to do lots of checks with credit card company and the bank. there shouldn’t be a problem but if you want it asap, call them a little bit after you place the order to make sure the confirmation is taking place. other than that, newegg has been phenomenal for me, never a problem.

Good luck JMR - I bought my TR from Newegg also, I love it and had a good experience buying from them (I buy stuff from Newegg quite a bit). Turbo is right on the money about the extra verification with a laptop purchase - it added an extra day and some phone calls for my purchase, but I’m glad it will be more difficult for someone to fraudulantly use my card too.

i love the TR too ....anything smaller then the TR such as the U series is too small and not powerfull enough ... anything bigger then the TR is a bit too bulky ...i had the R505 before the TR i used to lug it around but it was still a little bulky for me.

I love the TR for its size and most of all its screen ... its great to have this kinda resolution on a 10.4 screen size. love it .... only wish it had instant on and I would stop carrying a PDA.
