I have just turned on my TR2MP and got the following message:
<Windows root>\system32\ntoskrnl.exe The following file is missing or corrupt
I have done a google search as nothing on this site. And been advised to run ‘repair’ from your win install disk. When i boot from my bundled sony recovery disk it doesnt give me this option. Just:
1.Drive Recovery
2.Change Partition Size and Recover
3.Factory Default Settings
It advises me to back up data first but i cant run windows to do this.
I have next clicked on the first option but this says all data on c will be lost.
Perhaps the ‘repair’ option I’m looking for is only one click away but i dont want to risk losing all my data.
If anyone can help much thanks.
This is not my idea of a nice Sunday afternoon , especially after all that Guiness i drank last night! :|
You may whish to try this process before you use the repair CD / DVD.
This is the repair option that windows is referring to (run form the windows CD), Windows of course has no idea you have a sony repair disk and thus the confusion.
