I just picked up my T1…it’s about 3 days away from my door…I want to pick up all the accessories…the only thing I need left is a case.

Which one(s) do you have?
Do you like it?

I’ve read too many places online where they busted the LCD so I wanted something hard…and this is leather, so I am happy.

Yeah, I got my case a few weeks ago. The quality is so-so…not what I expect for ~$40, but it is a hard case, which is what I needed for the LCD, so I am happy.

i know..that’s why i quickly ordered the lcs-tha one.

I use this one from Timbuk2.  It is designed for the iPod but fits the T1 perfectly.  There is even a small pocket in front fitting for the MS duo adapter or an extra MS.  It can be worn either horizonatally or vertically.  Works perfectly for me.  Available in lots of colors as well.

It looks like soft-sided nylon.  Is there any extra support/protection?

It is soft sided nylon with elastic sides.  It is lined with a soft “felt-like” lining.  I have been using it on my messenger bag strap for 4+ months and not a scratch yet. (Knock on wood)  I ususally place the LCD towards the back of the case since the layering is as follows:
(front to back)

ballistic nylon
soft felt-like layer
whatever you put in the pocket
double sided soft felt-like layer
T1
soft felt-like lining
ballistic nylon
ballistic nylon strap (or whatever the pouch is attached to)
ballistic nylon w/ finer fuzzy lining
velcro sticky
velcro fuzzy
ballistic nylon again
then me!

There is no real additional protection besides fabric although one could probably slip a credit card size piece of plastic inside to protect the LCD if one so desired.

The seams on the sides protrude past the elastic providing some lateral protection although a not from a direct shot.

I would believe the T1 would be well enough protected from a fall from table height or your belt although I haven’t tried this yet!

I have seen them at Apple stores if you want to check one out in more detail. (of course bike stores as well!)

It works pretty well although I have a habit of just dumping the camera in my pocket since I’m not fond of belt clips.

I went with a no-name one. I was in Hong Kong (although I bought my T1 in NYC) and needed a case quickly. I’m always afraid of banging up the LCD. Originally I had looked at the Sony cases, but they were insanely expensive in HK. I paid something like 5 bucks for my case and it’s a perfect fit and even lightly padded. It’s my first time buying a non-Sony case for a Cybershot of mine, but I’m totally happy.
