So my guess is you want a 4gb CF for a camera? or do you have something more exotic in mind?

well somebody should do a rant here so i guess i’ll wack at it:
i love my 40gb ipod and think it’s the PERFECT accessory for a TR, with the obvious problem it does not come in puke gray to exactally match the inside of the tr.

ipod tips for pc:
* install the latest ipod update from apple
* use itunes 4.5 or above
* set ur library to external drive (our hard drives are teeny)

One could argue that u don’t need an ipod with a TR, as i have used the TR as an MP3 player while it’s in my messenger bag and i was flying around nepal on the silver bullet….but the hard drives are just too small on the TR….

I think he’s talking about the rant about MP3 players on the front page, in which gr00vy0ne says he bought the MP3 player just for the microdrive.

chocolonic had it right….sorry and all but it was late your honour! and in my defence the UK seems to be having it’s anual 2 day heatwave which is obviously messing with my head - or something like that…..

I was just curious as the why gr00vy0ne would by a 4gb microdrive - the only use that i have seen is to rip them apart and use them in a high end camera but with gr00vy0ne you never know….

Well, the easy answer is yes…I mainly bought it for the 4GB drive to use in my Sony DSC-F828. I saved close to $300USD doing this. The same 4GB OEM MicroDrive costs $499 normally. However, this same drive is used in a $199 Creative Labs Muvo2.

I ended up sticking in a 512MB CF card inside the Muvo2 so it wouldn’t go unused. It’s actually the first MP3 player I’ve ever owned. That’s scary. I’m still not happy with the models on the market so I haven’t bought one yet. This thing is fine for the time being although I’m much more partial to my MiniDisc player which just sounds better to me.

i was planning on doing that, but is it safe leaving it on in a bag, will it overheat?

i also need some sort of mp3 player with a 50 gb plus capacity, still can’t see anything on the market that will suffice

haha my friend did the same thing for use in his F828! except that he got the creative muvo at staff price at $100 over SGD and dumped the mp3 player aside.
