I have a “funny question”.
Right now I am in a really quiet place ... and my hearing can pick up all kind of noises around but last night I noticed a really high pitch noise coming from the hard drive of my TR. Is that normal or I am just one of the victims of Los Angeles and the contant noise polutions and I just heard the hard drive for the first time . because it is so freaking quiet here in Temecula?

I can just barely make out the high-pitched sound. It’s nowhere near as bad as the metronome sound the drive makes every few seconds when writing.

Temecula huh…. I drive though it every day to get from Murrieta to Camp Pendleton. Yes my profile lists Oxnard, but I’m here to work for a few months. I never thought of Temecula as a noisy place. Oh, you meant LA now that I reread your post. Then I’d have to agree.

I guess the question to ask is… Is the high-pitched noise a constant, or a repartition?

mine went kathunk kathunk just before it died.

I had a similar problem that freaked me out at first.  However, it only turned out to be feedback from the microphone (I think).  It only happens when the TR’s volume is set to the highest setting.  This may or may not help you.
