hi all-

i am hoping someone might be able to help me.  for some reason when i stream audio using windows media player it keeps dropping and buffer but when i use the radio stations site player it doesnt drop and buffer.  why would windows media player do that?????

Does the site’s radio station player use Windows Media player to stream the audio? Or does it use some other format? In some cases, the Windows Media stream may have a higher bandwidth requirement causing dropped connections on slower connections.

Have you also checked out the buffering options in Windows Media Player? It’s under the performance tab.

the station does use wma. 

i went to the performance tab and the buffering is set to the reccomended setting.  you think its the media player / bandwith issue.  not the router or anything?

Nah, I don’t think it’s the router. Again, you said it works with the site’s player which is most likely using Windows Media Player as it’s engine. It’s strange indeed…I don’t know what to tell you…what’s the site? Perhaps there’s some clue there…
