I’ve tested it using the Sony Bluetooth Adapter and it works great. Microsoft makes some great mice and this one works well and not having to deal with tangled cables is nice.

Once paired with your system, all you need to do is start using the mouse and it simply works.

it looks like you are up a creek WITH a paddle.  that’s insane.  you must give it 2 thumbs down just on size alone….it matters.

Microsoft’s supplied Bluetooth transceiver sucks. So, if you don’t already have Bluetooth abilities, then Microsoft’s solution will be cumbersome and you’ll probably want to buy another Bluetooth adapter. So, in this respect, the transceiver is definitely two thumbs down.

However, the mouse is good and works well with other Bluetooth transceivers (namely the Sony Bluetooth Adapter) and gets thumbs up. The mouse shouldn’t be penalized for the transceiver it comes with.

Currently, only Microsoft and Logitech (recently) have Bluetooth mice available. Logitech’s isn’t any smaller than Microsofts and looks like it needs the cradle (because it’s rechargeable). Supposedly, a company called Cellink in Taiwan has some Bluetooth mice that are supposeduly smaller but their website is down right now. Belkin (  )has also recently released a Bluetooth mouse but it doesn’t look that much smaller either.

If you don’t want a Bluetooth mouse then Kensington has a wireless (RF based) mouse that comes with it’s own USB dongle (  )

Ok, you cannot have two different mouse softwares loaded. So, you’ll either have to reinstall the VAIO touchpad options from the Sony application recovery disk or keep the mouse functions. You can’t have both. You’ll have to decide which one you’re going to use most and stick that that.

There is no passcode when you pair the mouse to the computer. When you set up the connection to the mouse via the Wireless Link control panel applet, you must choose the option to add a device that “does not require authentication”. It will then search out your device and connect to it without asking you for any passcode.
