 i dont undersant the cycles thing!... how can i know that
my tr1 is one year and a bit, old and i would like to know how to check my poor battery mate!

Sony:
Vaio TR1 - Expensive acc’s and my Battery started to die after 17 cycles.
17 ??? That’s also my magical number when my battery dropped from the design capacity of 47.73 to 47.64. I wonder did anyone else notice when did their battery capacity start to drop?
Insane - that is the exact figures mine is giving !?
R1 has 10 inch screen but square ratio so not wide screen like the TR. The later models (R2, W series and others) have different screens. I think the W series has 12 inches.
Don’t you see? You are fine. So in almost a year you have lost about 5 points on your battery’s capacity. You won’t really notice a significant difference until your full charge capacity reaches the mid 30’s. By that time you will be looking to upgrade or you can buy a new battery.
Erik’s post above seems to foster the right thinking.
I wasn’t complaining, just trying to help out as per your request by posting my figures.. i can honestly say i’ve never looked at those figures before. You and Erik are exactly right.. once i start noticing the battery isn’t lasting long enough, i’ll probably go out and buy a new one… tbh i’ve always thought of batteries as consumables.
(I’m not sure if I am quoting GI Joe or gr00vy0ne when I say that)
Well is there any difference… gr00vy seems to have loads of different skills (computers, break dancing, food service, baby sitting….) which I’m sure require the requisite costume changes
The only reason I don’t like to look is because once you know something is going to happen your almost expecting it.
If my battery last 3 hours or 2 hours and 55 minutes, I won’t notice…however if[/if] I am checking the battery stats I will be expecting to see how long the battery lasts and I will be upset when it doesn’t last the full time.
Once it starts to effect the way I use the machine (for example I cant get through a DVD on battery) then I know its time to buy a new one. Other then that, I accept the fact the battery won’t last forever and try to use it the best I can.
:?: i need to know that, “japaneseimports”, i checked the r2 and r3 and they said also 10” screen; is it square or wide?
Cause im starting to dislike the widescreen for music, the interfaces of reason 2.5 and cubase are square not wide so…..
i think the better ones for musis (my need):
