The next question is, how is the lightbar installed.  I didn’t notice any obvious screws or brackets.  Is it glued into place?

looks great, its just one number higher than the one without the bluetooth-sign on it (last digit is a checksum digit). lets wait until the first ones get it! :drool:

i don’t think there is glue needed to fix the lightbar, take a look @ the service manual again:

it looks like there is some kind of snap-in pin (black 32), or perhaps the screw 71/B5 fixes it… groovy, couldnt you look for us? your the best one in disassembling the tr!

There’s also the # 76 that seems to go into the groove area underneath the lightbar… hmmm

OK well i just pulled mine off. Apparently it’s held on there only by adhesive. There is some plastic grooves that guide it, but other than that it’s just adhesive.

part no. 76 is named SHEET (LED) (LS) so i don’t think its some kind of glue

those look like two little pieces that block the light coming from the power and the wireless lan led. Don’t really understand why they are there but they are stuck on the inside of the light bar…..probably need to order another set of them if going to replace the light bar.

i think they are needed to make the difference between the activated devices clearer. the part no. for them is 467714301, the pricing on servicesells is $3.15

i hope that brings us further…

good news!! i have recived it today! this is the exact part that we needed!!
the part number that i had ordered is x46261645 assy (LENS) (LED)F). was a bit worry since i never heard from them again since i placed my order but.. gonna try to to mount it this weekend.

I’m glad it turned out to be the right part. I would have felt like an A$% if it hadn’t been the right one! Well I’m glad I got to contribute something to the group of fellow TR freaks! I knew that part had to be out there!! Now I just need to get all the parts ordered for mine!

okay..couldn’t wait till this weekend to do the mod so i went ahead and attempted it. took some pictures and will try to post it in a few. i am very impressed with the mod.. it was pretty easy though you have to take you time to remove the old lens

I got mine the other day but I am waiting for the explicit directions for installation.  Removal of the old lens looks to be the tough part.  I am looking forward to the pictures and description of the process.

just when i was about to upload the pictures, that’s when i realize my memory stick drive is having alot of problems. my tr2 would either see it as a unknown device, device can’t start, or do not see the files on the ms. it would work on and off. tried to reinstall the drivers serveral times but it didn’t help. so i used to recovery discs and it worked for a few minute then it stopped working. perhaps i touched something while i was pressing the new led lens to ensure the adhesive sticks. i dunno but its driving me nuts.  :evil: .. i will post the pics as soon as i get my memory stick drive back. pretty much just slowly peel the old lens off but there are about 3 hooks that you should try to gently ply off. once the hooks are loose then just take a tiny flat head and slowly spread the adhesive apart. after its off. just take the two black plastic pieces that was on the old lens and stick them on the new one. then just put everything back. just take your time. meanwhile i gotta get my ms drive back up.
