I’ve got this Japanese TR3/b, and I cant say i’ve been trying too hard to fix this at the moment as I have wireless issues still to resolve, but does anyone know what keyboard I should set windows too in order to get the right characters to come from the right keys?

I have of course tried Japanese, but its not right.

First make sure that your keyboard driver in device manager is installed as Japanese PS/2 keyboard.  Then on the regional setting, please use Language US/English Keyboard Japanese.

Do you know which folder in the Dirvers directory has the Japanese Ps2 driver?
