For those of you that have the PCGA-JR1 or JRH1 Jog-Dial Remote, I have assembled some drivers for the device that work in English. It allows you to actually see the interface and configure it a lot easier.

Yeah, I finally got my own PCGA-JR1 and am playing around with it. It’s neat because it basically gives you two sound cards in your system. One regular one and one USB based one. Also, the MEGABASS on the PCGA-JR1 actually works.

With theses files is it completely in English? Mine still had some Japanese…

Well, the only Japanese left that you should see is on the remote itself. It will say in katakana - Jyogu rimocon rauncha (Jog Remote Control Launcher).

All of the Action Setup items that are in Japanese (on the remote) but show up in gibberish in Windows can be renamed. Just click on them and rename them.

The first item can be renamed to “Remote Volume” as it controls the volume on the device. The second item can be renamed to “Remote MegaBass” as it turns MegaBass on/off on the remote’s sound card.

Yes, you can use them at the same time…assuming your audio apps are aware of multiple audio sources. Most aren’t and use the default sound device.

WinAMP does allow you to choose which audio device you want to use on playback.

I’m interested in this remote, but can’t seem to find it anywhere…  Does it just pop up on ebay occasionally?  Or is there another source for the PCGA-JR1 Jog-Dial Remote?

These items are scarce…even in Japan. You’ll just have to check ebay.com or half.com (part of ebay) and do a search every once in a while. i waited months until i saw one pop-up so you may have to be patient. I will admit it is a fun thing to have but it’s not without its limitations.

I’ve only seen it on ebay. What I did was add it to a ‘favorites’ search, ebay e-mailed me when one was listed.

btw, how come there is no review, groovyone?  u have this for a long time, do you use it frequently? i should ask you for review too, tifosi, but you don’t own this anymore.    btw, how’s the keyboard swapping project?  any updates?

There is an error in the zip, give groovy a chance he will get you the correct file. I did do a semi-review when I first got it, the thread is somewhere here.

As for the keyboard swap…i got the screw driver…I removed all the screws but can’t seem to take it apart…almost as if it’s glued together…I need to wait for the service manual to arrive…I must be missing something that is holding it together.

I did fix it. For whatever reason, it keeps getting corrupted while on the server. I’ll try it again.  :?

Ok, I re-added a new version that works (I tested it before uploading) and I also added a link for a RAR compressed one that also works.

Try these and see if they work for you.
