Geez. I don’t even have a real job yet. Tutoring on the off days.. college still sucks. But its agonizing to see a 14 year old NOT understand the Pythagorean Theorem. And I dont even get the perk of moderately hot women.
Quick update…sat with the owner of my company…offered me a bump in position, a $35,000 raise…I said no. He asked what he could do to keep me…I said nothing.
I left today…he didn’t want or need me to stay another week…said my good-bye’s.
They still owe me for Thursday-Friday (we get paid weekly, but it runs from the week before) so i’ll see everyone next Friday to pick up my check.
On another note, this is my 666th post….scary, huh?

You will fully understand the “perk” once you get out of school. You may not initially but after a couple of years you’ll wish you were back in school where it’s a lot easier to meet people. At any rate, you don’t really want to “meet” anyone where you work as it can be extremely troublesome if things don’t work out.
Of course, you can offset this problem by staying active in stuff outside of work…and now you know…and knowing is half the battle!

A 50% raise isn’t bad, but there is nothing like being on your own. Even if you made less money, the freedom is so worth it. I saw a reduction in my income when I left Corporate America. Now, about three years later, I have absolutely no regrets. You could not pay me $500,000 per year to go back to the corporate world. I’m not kidding.

Don’t look back, Tifosif122! :D
It was a bit over 50%, but I wasn’t happy, no amount of money could have kept me there.

Dispite how trite it sounds, you have to find the right corporation. I wear Slipknot t-shirts and jeans to work and the executive VP was walking around the other day in his “kidney bean shirt”, a hawaiian shirt with a red kidney bean design and kidney beans as buttons.

Sweet. The last 3 days I wore jeans because I know I was leaving. They didn’t say anything, but I got some weird looks.
I would love to be able to wear jeans and t’s to work everyday.
