I’m in the market to buy a LCD TV for my room. Ideally, I’d like a 22-23” model (my current price range) and was wondering if any of you out there have one that you’d recommend.

I’ve been researching it for a while now but it’s still kind of confusing and there really aren’t that many reviews on these products in general. I still have so many questions…

I’d appreciate any comments, thoughts, or suggestions that any of you may have. For instance, whether Faroudja DCDi is really necessary, etc.

The best I can do is tell you about mine. I have an 18” LCD TV/Monitor from viewsonic. I can’t say it was worth the close to $1,000 price tag by any means.

I know if you don’t want ghosting your looking for a monitor/TV with a response rate of 16ms or less…anything more, during fast moving scenes, you’ll see ghosting, which can get annoying.

IMO i’d try and find a good LCD like Dells 20” (2001FP) for $770 after coupon BVQNJDBZ3H4M4H, and use it as a TV if possible.

Mine’s a little bigger than what you’re looking for, but I have a Toshiba 26HL83P LCD set (26 inches). The PQ is fantastic, and the viewing angle is very nice for an LCD. The contrast is pretty high by default, and blacks appear darker than on most other LCD sets I’ve seen. I got mine for about $2100, which is a pretty decent deal. Before getting the Toshiba, I tried out a Sony 23” LCD set (it was $2300 IIRC), and it wasn’t very good. In addition to being more expensive, the picture washed out when you moved to the side, and it really didn’t seem that bright or sharp. I usually go Sony for everything, but it wasn’t worth it in this case.

I’m currently eyeing the Zenith 23” which is surprisingly good. I stared at it for a while at BestBuy. It’s not as overly saturated as other models and it’s very sharp. I was also considering the Panasonic TC-L22H1 but it’s being discontinued and just looks noticeably smaller than the 23”.
