Dear Sony TR World forum members,

I’m Francois Verbeeck, a young analyst programmer (23) working and living in Belgium. I’ve been reading the whole forum, all papers i was able to find, all french and english articles about the TR1 / TR2 / TR3 that i managed to find on the web, I can believe how many times i read the delicious review of the TR1 by gr00vy0ne, his outstanding mods .... and i’m still unsure about my choice. The only problem i’ve encountered is the price. In Belgium, TR2A which is called TR2MP here (we only have the WinXP Pro version) is sold for more than 3000$ ... I don’t want to take the risk and order one in US although i could go to London and buy one there (but i didn’t find a reliable shop selling it for an interesting price) Anyway, i’m nearly ready to buy but i did want to have your opinion :

Simply, would you buy it for more than 3000$ if it was the only price in your country (and your monthly income was something like 1300$  :oops: )

Personally, I would buy one from then US and ship it international…

your dollar is worth 100x-1000x times our at this point , so you’d probably get a good deal.

Note: I know nothing about exporting laws

I would look for some alternative.  Spending 2.5 times your monthly income is pretty steep unless you can pay cash without it hurting you.  I’m not your financial advisor, though.  Just my two cents. :wink:

If i want to buy one in US, i’ll probably have to pay duty and i’m afraid to buy online such a fine piece of equipment :oops:

TruthSeeker, do you have another alternative ? What would you suggest ? I was really in love with the TR2 design and the gorgeous screen :cry:

Long answer…no with a but

Yes…if all the other options were similarly priced…
No…but knowing me I would be crazy enough to…with all the upgrades i’ve done I am approaching $3k.
