Sony is usually so good at making stuff very small. I have had my Lexar JumpDrive Secure for 6 months and it looks smaller than Sony’s latest mini cruzer. Why?
Here’s a link…since I still do not know how to post pics (I’m sure its real easy)
I have the Jumpdrive 128mb version, got it for $32 at Wal-Mart. I love the “look” of the sony drive, but since I carry my usb drive around on my keys I can’t justify scratching up a sony one!
I’m sure it will require software to be installed initially to get everything working. It would only make sense since XP doesn’t have any built-in abilities to do this.
Hm….I just have a CompactFlash 128MB card that I bought four years ago…a little scratched up, but works perfectly okay. I think that Sony will try to market the looks more than function (sound familiar?) without much of a change in function/ability than more common and cheaper alternatives.
[quote author=“invisiblefly”]i saw it comes with “password lock”. will that compatible with win xp without install any software? something similar to .htaccess in html
There is software that is configured on the drive itself which requires password access to the data you place in the “secured” folder. It works very well for what I need. I don’t know how it compares with other competitor flash drives because this is my first one.
I had a Cruzer mini previously, and files became corrupted left and right after a while. I got the Cruzer mini as a review sample, and it’s worked flawlessly thus far. Maybe it was cherry-picked, but in general I don’t usually buy Sandisk memory, even though it’s cheaper. It kind of hurt to pay double for a Sony Memory Stick Pro Duo for my T1, but the peace of mind is worth it.
