[quote author=“cellery”]I picked up a launch PS2 as well, but it manages to work just fine to this very day. I took two days off from college, drove to a small-town K-Mart, and waited outside from midnight to about 9 a.m. to get a PS2. They put us on a list, and sent everyone after the 30th guy home. However, the shipment only contained 5 PS2s, so there was a mini-riot when they said they didn’t have anymore. I was kind of scared as I walked up to the register to pay for it, about ten people followed me and offered to buy it off of me. One woman gave me a sob story about how her son was sick and really wanted a PS2. October 26, 2000 was quite a day. I don’t think I’ll do it again for PS3 though.
Yeah there was only 5 for our store too. I was first on line, followed by my mom…we took one each, I resold the second one for $750 the next day on Ebay…I didn’t feal bad…I waited at 3am…the next person to arrive came at 6am…I earned it.
And your story about the PS2s and PS1s makes sense. When you just see the numbers then it does make sense. I had two PS1s as well. One was original and the second one was a newer version that was “universal” and region free. I only recently sold the original one. I should sell the other one but I think I just may keep it for nostalgia’s sake. I’ll stick it with my museum of game systems next to my PC-Engine and TurboGrafx-16.

My mom’s cut…lol, not much…she’s really cool.
I couldn’t see selling a PS1 for $35-45…i’d rather keep it as a spare for when little kids are at my house and I don’t want them touching a PS2…let them kill the PS1 for all I care.
My second PS1 was the ‘portable’ one…I loved that thing, I think it was the PSONE or something like that…I have it in a drawer somewhere.
do you mind asking me about your AIBO experience (or anybody else’s)? how is it?
i was just thinking of buying one…
The aibo selling right now is far more advance then mine….I got it two years ago…when it first came out…not very technical as ERS7
seriously, I was living in an apartment that doesn’t allow pets…so my bf got me an Aibo to keep me entertained…now its really just sitting in my livingroom since I got a REAL dog!!
He’s not as smart as the lastest verison but CAN recongized touch, voice, and “some” comments…like sit..stay…one cool fator is IT have emotions…will not come to you if you called when it’s mad or upset about not getting enough attention!
I really wouldn’t get an Aibo if you can have a real dog that’s so much more livelier!
I’m waiting for the “Aibo Pound” so I can adopt one for a small adoption fee! It would be kind of neat to find one that is broken and fix it up. It would be the humane thing to do!
