Nah, have tried again. I’m confident these drivers are install, just not working with my hardware. I dont think they’re right as it states either 5001x+ or Fujitsu 802.11 a/g not a/b/g as the hardware supports.
I went to the product search option on the atheros site, came up with:

Ok, well it seems then there is a new set of drivers. I scoured the net and couldn’t find any so you’ll probably want to check with your importer (assuming there was one…you still haven’t mentioned).
One thing everyone can learn from this is to make a backup of your system before you go and install your own OS on it. For most installations, there is usually copies of the drivers on the installation.
You may want to kindly ask Jeo Muliadi at http://www.icube.us to see if he can provide you a copy even if you didn’t buy it from them. He’s a member here and has been helpful in the past. There aren’t any guarantees but it’s worth asking. (Sorry Jeo  )
Thanks, I try getting in contact with my man in Japan.. I ordered my TR directly from him, but you can check out his site at http://www.japanatronics.com
He has been as helpfull as he can, he’s sent copies of his own TR drivers & utilies, but he doesn’t have the same wireless hardware I guess.
I’ll also try the chap you suggested, and let you know…
Me too i bought from Japanatronics a tr3/b.
At the moment i’ve a partition on it.Effectively i’m trying to operate on winXPpro to install everything, but i have still on the other partition the original OS in japanese perfectly working. My problem is that i’m not able to do a backup with XPhomeI followed the suggestions of the forum to find the other partition(dik f: where you have to find the recovery files),but till now,no positive results.
When i start it in japanese everything works properly,so probably these drivers have to be there. If someone could suggest me aan approximative directory i would try to find these drivers and put them on the forum.
Me too,i’ve the same UGX problem when i start it with XPpro.
Well,i wait your answers, and ill do the much i can.(if you tell me how make a backup pf the jap sys,i also can send you the cds.)
Ps:how have you done with the four buttons on the screen?

Djpus
Well, the trick you suggest could work with the recovery disks,if i’ve understood…Or maybe i’m too stupid to understand it :D :D .
I’ll wait you come back from work.i do not wanna risk to “damage” the virgin japanese OS without the recovery cds.
chooses not to accept emails in english to Japanese support
Um, this makes no sense whatsoever. If a Japanese e-mail is sent to Sony Europe support then are they likely to respond to it?
No, what I meant was that Sony are telling me to go to country of origin for support, but they can give me a number to ring, and the email address for japan support specifies that english language is not accepted.
Another deliberate barrier set up by sony.
Well, expecting Japanese people to speak and understand English is ridiculous.
I dont think so, all of the other sony divisions do, including Hong Kong & Asia, besides, how is it so ridiculous to expect an english translation of their website…...?

So did you get recovery CD’s in the box with your TR3/b or did you burn them yourself from the Japanese OS?
If you’ve already got them, then you could try extracting the drivers from the .pac files. Or if you want you could upload an ISO image to my FTP of the cd’s to me and I can do it…

DJPUS: Have you looked in the C:\WINDOWS\DRIVERS directory? Are there multiple subdirectories with the various drivers for the devices in there? That’s the setup I’ve seen for most TRs. If you do see it then that’s all McGreggor really needs. Look for the WLAN or Atheros or something like that. You don’t necessarily need to extract everything. The drivers should be there.
[quote author=“Anonymous”]well,i still have to create the recovery discs,an it’s this that i would like to do.For the moment, when i start the baby with jap OS in C: already exists a Drivers directory.
Then there’s this other directory
C:WINDOWS\System32\Drivers
that is present also when i start with XP PRO.
What i’ve to do to burn these fu****g recovery discs??
I can’t tell you what you need to do to start burning the recovery cd’s, I never got that far! However, I suggest you try copying the C:\drivers directory from the Japanese OS to the XPHome partition, or burn it to CD. You should then be able to use those drivers to install under XPHome.
As for the recovery CDs, im sure someone here can tell you where they went to start the wizard, perhaps the name of the exe file would save you trying to find the start menu link.

It’s the first thing i did,but the camera did not work without bluespace and the wireless ask me for this file: q323183_wxp_sp2_x86_ita
:? :?
The q323183 file is a microsoft update patch you need to install first, then those drivers should work… Would you be able to upload that drivers folder to my ftp if i set u up an account?
